The Deinocheirus TLC charges into battle, now boasting abilities that vary whether it’s wet or dry. These new abilities and attacks greatly enhance Deinocheirus’s versatility in combat, and allow it to adapt to battles based on its environment.
If Deinocheirus opts to take the dry land-based route, it can take advantage of new abilities geared towards that environment and playstyle. Read on, or watch our latest video for all the details!
Deinocheirus’s Abilities
Let’s take a closer look at Deinocheirus’s abilities.
Wring Out
Emerging from the water, Deinocheirus can equip the ‘Wring Out’ ability to shake off all the moisture from its feathers to instantly dry off. Pair this with the ‘Light Feathers’ ability to extend its running duration, or opt for ‘Parched Scales’ to allow Deinocherius to further accelerate drying out and to significantly boost stamina regeneration
Claw Frenzy
Once on dry land, Deinocherius can utilize its new ‘Claw Frenzy’ front limb ability. This is a charge-like attack that sprints forward and attacks enemies with multiple powerful claw swings! Use this ability while dry to consume less stamina per attack, and also gain immunity to knockback for the duration of the charge. This makes it the perfect ability for Deinocheirus preferring their battles to take part whilst high and dry!
Braced Legs
With ‘Braced Legs’, Deinocherius can also make use of increased land mobility. When dry, this ability will ignore movement slowing when traveling uphill, increase speed when moving downhill, and reduce fall damage. Deinocherius can combine this with Juke to rapidly change direction to look directly behind it and face its foes within a moment's notice!
Waterlogged
But, if the land is not its calling then Deinocherius can instead choose to stick to the shore. It can enhance its combat skills with the ‘Waterlogged’ hide ability to become heavier, and combine it with its new array of water-based abilities.
Riptide
Deal devastating blows to unsuspecting targets with ‘Riptide’, an attack with a long wind up that deals more damage if both the Deinocheirus and its target are wet! Or, use ‘Hemorrhage Claw’ to cause opponents to bleed in water.
Backhand
‘Backhand’ may be more appealing for Deinocheiruses that want to push their enemies around, as this directional claw attack causes both knockback and splashes all targets ahead, letting Deinocheirus soak its targets before closing in for the kill.
Water Dodge
Deinocheirus can also now evade incoming attacks by using ‘Water Dodge’ to quickly dart out of the way to safety, or use ‘Water Spout’ to spray water all around and make themselves and enemies nearby wet.
