Today we’ve released a small game patch focused on improving quality of life, optimizing performance, and addressing key community feedback across several areas of the game. Below, we’ve outlined the most impactful changes that players should be aware of.
Please Note: It may take a while for this update and hotpatch to become available for all platforms.
Character Selection Screen Details
We've added optional new information to Character Selection Screen (can be used on Community Servers). Dinosaurs can now show if their lifespan, Marks, who killed them last, if they're in a home cave, and which POI they're in (if in one). This is a server setting and must be enabled by community server owners to see it. It is not currently enabled on any Official Servers.
Critter Behavior
This update includes multiple improvements to critters:
- Introduction of Neutral Critters that only become hostile if provoked. We will be expanding on these types of behaviors for critters in the future, but for now this is just the first initial test of this system.
- Enhanced network performance for smoother interactions
- A fix aimed at reducing critters unintentionally running into water
These changes should help make encounters with critters more reliable and realistic.
Biome Audio Adjustments
Based on community feedback, we’ve made several updates to ambient biome audio:
- Reduced the intensity of cicada and cricket sounds
- Lowered the volume of wind effects in various areas
These changes are intended to create a more balanced and immersive audio environment without overwhelming players.
Gondwa Map Updates
The Gondwa map has been refined with both visual and functional updates:
- Optimization improvements to enhance performance in certain areas
- A more accurate minimap for better navigation, including the removal of the bridge next to Impact Crater.
- We've also added an optional Arachnophobia toggle in the game settings to disable spider ground crawlers on Gondwa, based on community feedback.
New Raptor Pounce Buff: Strong Grip
We’ve introduced a new armor buff called Strong Grip for the following creatures: Achillobator, Deinonychus, Eurhinosaurus, Latenivenatrix, and Rhamphorhynchus.
This buff activates upon pouncing and grants a short window of increased armor, making these creatures more effective and survivable in close encounters. We’ll be monitoring community feedback closely to ensure this remains a balanced change.
Bug Fixes and System Improvements
This patch includes a broad range of bug fixes and optimizations, including:
- AoE abilities now scale properly with Shockwave and other passive abilities that increase AoE range.
- Fixed incorrect damage values for Tyrannosaurus and Tyrannotitan at smaller growth stages
- Corrected UI and input issues with baby nest invites, controller movement, and the call menu
- Improved rain rendering and wind intensity handling across platforms
- Performance improvements across mobile and console platforms
These changes aim to improve stability, performance, and the consistency of core gameplay mechanics. Thank you for your continued feedback and support. Your insights play a crucial role in helping us prioritize what matters most to the community. As always, we’ll continue monitoring performance and balance across all systems, and we look forward to hearing your thoughts on this latest update!
