Hey everyone! Today we are excited to announce the Stegosaurus TLC! This TLC rework comes with a new model, skins, emotes, and abilities that will make the Stegosaurus a strong defensive dinosaur, capable of massive bleed damage using its lethal tail thagomizers. The Stegosaurus has also received one of our first audio re-works for a Dino TLC release, so there’s lots to cover!

Bleeder Build

For those looking to defend themselves with a strong offense, the Stego has a set of new bleed abilities. By inflicting bleed, health will slowly be drained from opponents while the Stegosaurus can sit back and stay in control of the fight.

Wind up Tail Swing to land a blow that scales its bleed damage with how long it’s charged.

After successfully landing enough hits, it’s time to Clamp your foes. Swing your tail, impaling smaller creatures on your spikes to carry them around while dealing massive damage. This will also turn Tail Attack into a slam, smashing any impaled creature into the ground.

The passive ability Thagomizer will reflect bleed damage onto foes attacking the spiked end of the tail, punishing those attacking from behind.

The sense Bloodlust will reduce base attack damage in exchange for significantly boosting bleed damage, draining your foes faster during the brawl.

Sweep at foes with Tail Attack, a heavy bleed attack leveraging its tail spikes to pierce opponents.

Gain armor and extra bleed damage with Bright Plates, scaling with the amount of Bleed, Venom, Toxin, Poison, or Fracture a foe has inflicted on you, turning them to your advantage.

These abilities turn the Stegosaurus into notably dangerous prey able to apply bleed in several ways and bide time while foes succumb to its effects.

Defensive Fighter

If you’d rather hunker down with the herd, absorbing damage and keeping predators at bay, Stegosaurus has several abilities that build up defense and increase reflected damage.

When enemies approach, activate Defensive Stance, reducing stamina regeneration in exchange for increased armor and status healing, turning the Stego into a spiked bastion.

Spit will hit foes in front of you and weaken their attack damage for a short period, reducing their effect as they move in to attack.

Spiked Gathering will increase reflected damage for every nearby Stego, Miragaia, and Kentrosaurus in the group, as well as increased armor and immunity to group members’ reflected damage.

Alternatively, equip Strong Stance, decreasing the stamina penalty of Defensive Stance, the amount of hits required to activate Clamp, and incoming damage when clamping a creature.

Use Tail Barrage to quickly swing 3 times in a wide range for effective crowd control while dealing bleed damage to anyone struck.

Resilient Spikes will increase Bleed, Fracture, Poison, Venom, and Toxin healing, reducing their effects.

When surrounded by enemies, use Swerve to quickly turn and swing its tail in a 180 degree sweep.

Predators will want to reconsider attacking a herd defended by the Stegosaurus with its armor, reflective bleed, and punishing tail attacks.

Audio

As mentioned the Stego has also had its core set of calls remixed and improved along with its full vocal wheel of actions including Shake Off, Look Around, and Stretch. In addition to this we’ve updated Stego’s movement audio to include some layers of flavor audio with plate clanking, breathing, and general movement sounds to make this lumbering beast feel bigger and more alive! We’re looking to similarly update other Dino movements across our roster so stay tuned!

We are really looking forward to seeing and hearing how players will use the new bleed and defensive abilities, whether it’s wearing down your opponent while it’s life bleeds away, or playing defensively, drawing out a fight with high armor and devastating tail attacks. We hope you enjoy this TLC and we look forward to your feedback. As always, thank you, and we’ll see you soon!
